Claudia Aguirre is an advisor at GIZ Program “ESTHER University and Hospital Partnerships in Africa” since May 2017. She has worked on health system strengthening since 2010 mainly in francophone West Africa with a thematic focus on sexual and reproductive health, infectious diseases and nutrition. Since 2016 at GIZ she has been in charge of planning and implementing adaptation measures to climate change in the health sector in African countries, working in close cooperation with WHO. Before that she coordinated hospital design and construction projects in Central Asia. Improving quality of health services has always played a central role in her projects either through trainings, twinning arrangements or improved infrastructure. Ms Aguirre is a psychologist and holds a master’s degree in Public Health (Fulbright Scholar at New York University 2007-2009).
