Prof. Dr. Michel Wensing
Michel Wensing is (university) Professor of health services research and implementation science in healthcare at Heidelberg University (Germany) since 2015. He is also head of the newly established 2-year M.Sc. program of Health Services Research and Implementation Science and adjunct-head of the Department of General Practice and Health Services Research in Heidelberg University Hospital. Previously, he was full professor (2011-2015) at Radboud University Medical Centre, Nijmegen (Netherlands), where he still holds an honorary appointment. He has been trained as sociologist (M.Sc. 1991), medical care researcher (PhD, 1997), health economist (Diploma 2007), and medical care researcher (Habilitation 2010). His research has focused on general practice, primary care, implementation science, and patient experiences. So far, this has resulted in 400+ publications, including 30+ randomized trials, and 40+ supervised PhD students. He is co-editor of the book Changing Professional Practice and is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Implementation Science since 2012.
