Rupal K Shah
Rupal is the Technical Lead for Manchester Global Foundation, dealing primarily with the preparation of expressions of interest, technical and financial proposals, and contributing to team selection and pre-bid negotiations. Rupal is also a freelance consultant in the field of international health, focusing on research, monitoring and evaluation, and report writing. Over recent years, she has collaborated with non-governmental, and international organisations, both at headquarters level and in the field (Bangladesh, Ghana, Myanmar and UK). Rupal has a strong interest in global health. When working at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research in Bangladesh, she was involved in initiating a large two-year hepatitis E virus national surveillance project across Bangladesh to estimate the incidence of maternal and neonatal deaths from hepatitis E virus in an innovative partnership with the Government of Bangladesh.
She has a Masters from the University of Bath, UK, and from the James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Rupal shifted focus from pharmacy to human populations by pursuing a Master’s in Public Health. She has a passion for ensuring that all forms of technical assistance, whether research, training, consultancy or volunteering are delivered effectively and within an ethical framework.
